When a family needs help

I have found recently that there are many options when times are tough. Xcel energy, CenterPoint Energy and other utility companies have information for organizations they may be able to take the edge of these monthly bills. I don't know the parameters (what income qualifies) but when a family is in need it is worth a try.

The best contact on my quest was the united way. They have information for area resources that cover just about every need you could imagine.

It's the weekend!

There is HOMECOMING in the St. Anthony area and there are lots of fun activities.

First, there is an Italian Dinner. Not badly priced and a good place to see your neighbors.

Then, there is the football game. Get out there and cheer on our Huskies.

There are TWO, count 'em two pancake breakfasts. One is from our band boosters. This benefits the whole program. It's a wonderful idea to support an organization that brings us such beautiful music! This takes place at the High School - Middle School new and improved cafeteria. CHECK IT OUT!

Also, there is a pancake breakfast at the Village Pub being put on by our Cross Country team.

A little news. My daughter (for the first time in my history as a parent) had strep throat. Tis the season to be very, very careful about coughs, sneezes and germs. KEEP IT CLEAN.

I took her to the clinic at Target on New Brighton Boulevard. Great quick service. I also got a coupon to use for our next visit. It seems that they accept all kinds of insurance. For convenience, I would definitely recommend it.

here is a very cool organization

I just signed up for their newsletter. This is a cooperative food organization that buys in bulk so the community may benefit. I cannot vouch for the products yet as I have not purchased them yet. A very good friend let me know it was out here. Google fare for all and check it out. One of the draw backs from what I understand is that there isn't the choice that you get with traditional grocery shopping but it may work for those who love to save money.

Hey, anybody have any ideas or have you heard of any great deals? Let us know. There may be as many as FIVE people reading!

Oh yeah and pass it on!

And the $$ Take care of themselves

The purpose of this bog is to reach out to each of my friends and community members. This could be an excellent forum to share good deals, sales and fun ideas. I would love any comments (or even commentary) that would help those in our area.

The big thing this week: Check out Cub on Silver Lake Road. I got Gatorade 10 for $9. I also got some great brownies for .99. They have a coupon book with fantastic deals. The coupons are good through the 25th of September.

My daughter, over the last month has come up with a really cool idea that will make her tennis shoes last longer and they are so fun! She has taken brightly colored duct tape and covered her tennis shoes. Now the shoes were a little old but, this means they were broken in, comfortable and now she will be able to wear  them longer.

Again, this is just the beginning. I welcome all comments as if we help each other, just by sharing all of us will benefit.

Pass this link on. The more the merrier.
